Research Department of Music & Media Technology
Since its beginnings, the Research Department has succesfully conducted a number of large-scale projects. Among them are:

MUSITECH = Music- and Sound-Objects in Information Technology (Multimedia Publishing, Archiving, and Teleteaching)
Development, conceptualization and implementation of elements of navigation and models of communication for interactive use of acoustic information in virtual spaces of knowledge with a financial support by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) (Volume ca. 600.000 €)

Another extensive project is epOs-Music, a scientific online publisher founded in 2000 offering innovative possibilities for the presentation, research and archiving of music-related information (open access).

The congresses "Neue Musiktechnologie"
(New Music Technology) in the context of the Osnabrück biennale KlangArt (1991–2001) were designed and organized by the Research Department of Music & Media Technology.

The Research Department regularly offers virtual seminars (since 1996), originally chat-based, in recent years (in cooperation with virtUOS) increasingly by means of audiovisual teaching and learning environments, e.g.

- 2014: virtual seminar on the topic “Sur scène. Liveness in Klang und Bild” (“Sur scène. Liveness in Sound and Image”), in collaboration with the Bern University of the Arts (HKB, Prof. Dr. M. Harenberg, Angela Bürger), the Zurich University of the Arts (Prof. André Bellmont) and the University Lüneburg (Prof. Dr. R. Großmann)

- 2012/13: virtual seminar for the introduction in the synthesis/composing system Max/MSP/Jitter, in cooperation with students of the Universities of Graz (apl. Prof. Dr. W. Jauk) and Vienna (Prof. Dr. Chr. Reuter). Chaired by Prof. Dr. B. Enders (University of Osnabrück) and apl. Prof. Dr. J. Stange-Elbe (Hamburg).
